Competitive Wages & Salaries. Our goal is to offer competitive base and variable pay programs for the exemplary employees we attract and hire. Our benefits package further complements our compensation program by offering a rich array of traditional and unique benefits.

Cash Performance Bonus. Superior company performance is celebrated with a discretionary payment made to reward employees' contributions. The bonus is based on company profitability and not a guaranteed part of compensation.

Multiple Medical & Insurance Plan Options. Eligible employees enjoy the flexibility to choose what’s best for them. Preventive services are covered at 100% under each plan.

Healthy Lifestyles Program. Employees and their spouses/domestic partners enrolled in our medical insurance programs are encouraged to improve their health and wellbeing by participating in this program. Participants in the program enjoy reduced medical insurance premium costs.

Tuition Reimbursement. Year-round employees pursuing
business-related graduate or undergraduate degrees receive tuition reimbursement assistance toward eligible expenses. Approved college courses and Certificate Programs also qualify for financial assistance. 

Temporary Assignments.  Employees who want to develop professionally internally and build their knowledge of the L.L.Bean organization are encouraged to take on temporary assignments.

Advanced Management Program. This rotational management development program is intended to be a rigorous learning experience that positions participants for future success as key contributors at L.L.Bean.

Employee Assistance Program. Available to employees or family members, this program provides confidential assessment, referral and counseling services.

Vacation Buy/Sell. Eligible employees receive paid vacation time based on their employment status and years of service with the option to sell or buy up to 5 vacation days to fit their own needs.

Paid Sick Time. Year-round employees are protected from loss of pay due to personal or family illness, personal or family business or emergencies for a certain number of hours each calendar year.

Leave Programs. Leave time is extended for approved periods of time away from work based on an employee’s own medical need, family members’ medical need, military service or to pursue special opportunities.

Relocation Assistance. L.L.Bean provides support, based on eligibility, to newly hired or internally transferred employees and their families.

Special Programs. At times, L.L.Bean is able to respond to challenging economic conditions by offering special short-term discount programs to employees to assist with expenses such as heating oil or gasoline.

Outdoor Discovery School Program Discount. Employees receive 20-40% discount on most programs.

Use Room. Employees are able to borrow all types of outdoor gear to outfit their adventures from our Use Room in Freeport.

Rangeley Camps. Eligible employees have access to several cabins in the beautiful Rangeley Lakes region of Maine.

Outdoor Experience Days. L.L.Bean encourages its management and professional employees to participate in outdoor activities in order to strengthen their connections with their colleagues and the L.L.Bean brand.

Bean’s Best. This is the highest form of corporate recognition, reinforcing our belief that exemplary performance and outstanding effort should be recognized. Employees nominate their co-workers for outstanding performance and all employees are eligible to be selected as “Bean’s Best.”

Community Service. We support employees’ efforts in the community with paid time off for participating in L.L.Bean’s designated activities in the community.

Company Gift. Year-round employees receive a one-time congratulatory gift card for special lifetime events such as marriage and the birth or adoption of a child.

Service Award. This program is designed to thank employees for their years of dedication to L.L.Bean. Service is recognized in 5-year increments and awards range from a paid day off to varying levels of recognition awards.
